Richard Mabry

Well, since Seinfeld's "program about nothing" did so well, it seems reasonable that a "novel about everything" would make a killing, too. Wonder how much 15% of "a killing" would be.

Kelly Combs

Richard Mabry just wrote was I was about to! Guess Seinfeld comes to mind quickly when you hear about a "novel about everything." (or a show about nothing).

Thanks for the tips, and the laughs!

Cheryl Barker

I guess just when you think you've heard it all, you hear from the guy who has written a "novel about everything". Thanks for the chuckle -- nothing like going out with a bang for the 4th! :)

Amanda

But I love pomes!!

Sharon A Lavy

When a publisher wants to publish my book I can assure you that #1 is the screaming bit. Then the nitty gritty of the contract. And then perhaps more screaming.

But that's just me. =)

Janice Thompson

This is great stuff, Chip. I'm thinking of writing a pome to share my enthusiasm! Instead, I think I'll just let your readers know that CAN (Christian Authors Network) is another great organization for multi-published authors. We work together to promote one another's books. www.christiainauthorsnetwork.com

Thanks for answering my question on the reserves. I'm with a small press who's at 25% and my agent said that might increase so I'm concerned.

Stevie Rey

Hee, hee. I feel better now that ye done told off on them bad proposals, Chip. That almost makes mine look like it was done by a smart person...almost :-).

brandt Dodson

Pomes?

Is that like writing a buk?

Judith Robl

Didn't you hear my screams and see my roof blow by?

I just got word that one of my proposals is going to committee this month. It passed the muster of two preliminary editors. I know that committees review many proposals and publish a few, so just going to committee isn't a guarantee that it will be picked up, but this is the furthest up the ladder I've ever been. And I'm euphoric.

Thanks, Chip, for your continuing dose of reality in our writing fantasies.

Gratefully...

Mike

Thanks for the practical info. Good stuff, as usual.

dana mentink

Goodness. Maybe 'pomes' is a European spelling! Dana

Pam Halter

But ... but ... but ... the LORD has told me to send my YA fantasy novel to you!! It even has a prophecy written as a pome.

A POME!!

Even my 16-year-old daughter shook her head when I read her the novel about everything.

I sure hope it had a pome in it.

pam, who will be working on a pome about Rome for Chip's next birthday celebration.
