Thanks for the updates. Editor Jamie Chavez is perfectly awesome to work with. And Joyce Magnin is a fabulous gal, too. AND so are the Book Therapy girls. AND...

I heartily agree with your recommendation of Susie May Warren's My Book Therapy. She deserved the Mentor of the Year award!

Love Jamie and Joyce both; wish I could work more with them.

Thanks, too, for the Cunningham article. A beautiful reminder that writers do NOT, in fact, work in a vacuum. I once spent four hours locked in a conference room with a gaggle of Bible scholars discussing how one segment of the American population "received" a particular passage of Scripture, and how this should be reflected in translation. This interplay between reader/"receiver" changed forever my own writing as well as my attitude toward translation (biblical and otherwise).

I always have to wonder about the people who are afraid of offending non-christians. What about the Christians? We have feelings too. Perhaps it's because we're more forgiving.

Thanks for sharing this run-down. And a huge congrats to the INSPY finalists. I just used The Writing Career Coach recently, and it was well worth the investment.

Re: 100 Best First Lines...I'm pretty sure that first part of #22 was from Snoopy.

I also did My Book Therapy and loved it. Big help there. Thanks for the updates and congrats to all your clients who are up for awards!

I am not surprised. :)
